More About Scott Summers
Scott Summers is a North Carolinian based Black American artist who focuses on the black experience. His current collection focuses on a central theme of being black in America highlighting the unique characteristics eradicating the idea that an unfamiliar lived experience is "too black" to express, "too black" to mention "too black" for artistry.
To express these raw emotions Scott works in different mediums including spray paint, paint markers, ink, found objects, glue, tissue paper and landscape elements. Within his artwork you'll notice humorous and dark subjects often illustrated in a colorful approach with meticulous details to Black Culture with the utilization of Black America vernacular, Social perception of crime, political aspects and the stigma of mental health in the black community.
