An Expansive Look at Gender Through the Lens of Interdisciplinary Theatre
February 25th, 7pm - 11pm
Join us for an interactive gallery experience where you will have a glimpse into the process of The Gender Gallery. The Gender Gallery is an ongoing interdisciplinary theatre project exploring the expansiveness of gender. This project is led by UNCG undergraduate students across disciplines that have been working for the past 6 months investigating the complexities of gender by conducting interviews and surveys, leading community workshops, devising theatrical work, collaborating with artists, and planning this event. One of our many goals is to highlight untold narratives around gender and the lives of gender-expansive individuals. We wish to explore the ways we express our gender through language and movement as well as uplifting untold narratives around gender-expansive joy, love, community, dreams, and art. You will experience two devised projects, several creative submissions from artists across the country, and living exhibits where your participation is key. We ask you to join us in questioning and pushing the boundaries of theatre, art, gender, and the use of space as we spend a night creating a mosaic of lived experiences and celebrating the expansiveness of gender.
Follow the project on Instagram @thegendergallery and email thegendergallery@gmail.com with questions about the project or event.
