Special guests: NLDP presents Love Notes from the Skeleton in My Closet, a dance and music collaboration.
The Difficulties is an anti-meta, neo-beat, electronic, garage, gospel quartet/band that brings laptop wizardry together with two saxophonists, a percussionist, and an ironist wordsmith. Brian Lampkin: poet, voice Susan Fancher, soprano saxophone, voice Mark Engebretson, computer, keyboards, baritone saxophone Chris Thompson, percussion.
The Difficulties present new work and old, featuring "explorations of latent spaces in semantic image synthesis" by Durham-based artist and UNCG alum Jonathan Wall, along with the premiere of "High Point Wire" with words by Brian Lampkin and sounds by Mark Engebretson. The band plans to attempt Eurovision by percussionist Chris Thompson; meanwhile, Susan Fancher floats above it all on soprano sax and vocals.
