OBJECT LESSONS
by Linda Kent
Opening: April 13th, 6pm - 9pm
Objects are sometimes found, sometimes made
They can be unmade
taken apart.
They have their own energy
And opinions
They speak and are sometimes rude
or soft, or loud
They can sometimes sing.
Objects contain the history of their own making
they remember.
They know things
they wear traces of what has happened
They hang suspended on the wall
and wait
They change with the light
They change me
"The minute we pick up an object is the beginning of a relationship.” (Issa Samb)
Questions arise. So many questions.
Objects occupy space.
And hold their presence.
