This exhibition explores the impact that social media has on our own reality. In a world that runs on technology, we are connected to everything, but in a dysfunctional manner leaving us to be dysconnected. Perhaps, we would be better off disconnecting.

Hi, I’m Natalie and I am (a Charlotte-based) artist currently pursuing my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the University of North Carolina – Greensboro, specializing in Graphic Design. My work explores controversial subject matters and challenges them by today’s societal norms and standards in an illustrative surrealist way. I plan to publish my own comic series and am working towards my dream of being a character designer for Pixar Studios.
From Andy Warhol to Giovanni Bernini, Dmitri Vrubel to Roxanna Hall, and David Cerny to Happy D, I believe that artists have a mission to see things from a different, often controversial, point of view. Seeing things from a unique perspective leads to changes in attitude. …And changes in attitude lead to real progress as a society. Per Oscar Wilde: “No great artist ever sees things as they really are. If he did, he would cease to be an artist.”
I also think Bob Ross is a mad genius.
I am a free spirit and believe in spontaneity as a driving force for creativity. In addition to pursuing a career as a professional artist, I enjoy reading comics, thrifting, roller-skating, soaking up the sunshine, and indulging in chocolate-covered pretzels. And in the words of Dr. Seuss, “ I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells”.
