A UNCG + Guilford College
Collaborative Student Exhibition
February 27 - March 2, 2024
Reception: Thursday, February 29th | 5-7P
Students in Chris Thomas's Expanded Print Media (UNCG) and in Mark Dixon's Sculpture, Humanity, and Ecology (Guilford College) courses have come together in a collaborative effort that grew out of an idea and a compost bin. Come see their artistic responses to issues around ecology and sustainability!
Greensboro Project Space is common ground for Guilford College sculpture students and printmakers from UNCG this month as themes of Sustainability and Ecology drive a collaborative and creative conversation that will be on display from Tuesday, February 27th – Saturday, March 2nd with a reception occurring Thursday, the 29th from 5:00-7:00 PM.
Collaborative projects such as this create a space for young artists to stretch their abilities and test out ideas that wouldn’t normally develop in an individual studio. Connecting art students from our two institutions enables lessons in improvisation, visual and verbal communication, and inspires a more serious and objective sense of self- reflection as each artist works with a sense of greater collective purpose.
This exhibition is less an endpoint and more an envisioning of what becomes possible when we broaden our spectrums through creative conversations.
